Amend section 11 by striking out of line 1 the word
"from," and from line 2 the words "Stockton to the White
House.''

Amend by striking out the title and insert the following :

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate a company to make a
turnpike from the White House, by way of Fallston to
Magnolia, in Harford county, State of Maryland.

Which were severally adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a, third reading.

Mr. Davis called up

The Senate bill to appropriate a sum of money for Char-
lotte Hall School.

Said bill being on third reading.

(By unanimous consent,)

Mr. Davis .submitted the following amendments :

Strike out all after the "enacting clause" and insert the
following.

Amendment to section 1, "the sum of one thousand dollars,
be and is hereby appropriated for the use and benefit of
Charlotte Hall School, and that said appropriation shall con-
tinue for five consecutive years.''

Amendment to section 2, "that said sum of one thousand
dollars, be and is hereby made payable by the Treasurer on
the warrant of the Comptroller, to the President of the
Trustees of Charlotte Hall School on the first day of June of
eighteen hundred and seventy-four, for five consecutive years
from the date thereof, and no longer.

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of the Cam-
bridge Female Seminary.

Being on third reading.

(By unanimous consent,)

Mr. Davis submitted the following amendment:

Strike out in section 1, in the 4th and 5th lines, after the
words "sum of three thousand dollars,'' and insert "one
thousand dollars, annually for five consecutive yeas.'

Which was adopted.
