Also, the following amendment:

Add to section 5, "and shall pay damages to the owners
of the land over which the new route may be located, to be
ascertained as herein before provided."

Which was adopted.

Section 8. strike out all after "thereon" in line 46 and in-
sert "together with costs of suit."

Which was adopted.

Said bill as amended was read the second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Drovers'
and Mechanics' Bank of Baltimore city,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Aet to compensate Henry H.
Silver, for services in the discharge of the duties of State
Librarian from February 2nd to April 5th, 1870,

Was read the third time and failed to pass for want of a
constitutional majority by yeas and nays as follows :

The vote by which said bill failed to pass was reconsidered.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to Joel Danner
and David Ziegler, partners trading under the name and
firm of Danner and Ziegler the. sum of one hundred and
twenty dollars, money erroneously paid into the Treasury,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
