Also, from the Committee on Pensions, reported favorably
on

The House bill entitled an Act for the benefit of Julia A.
Dorsey, widow of Edward Dorsey.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. McCulloh, from a Select Committee, reported

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Allegany county, to correctly assess and charge
the devisees and assignees of the late Richard Caton, of Mary-
land, and his several daughters, with the lands belonging to
them in said county, from January 1st, 1873, and thereafter,
so that the taxes really due thereon may be correctly ascer-
tained and paid.

Which was read the first time.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

The Usury bill was postponed until Thursday next, and
made the order of the day for 12 o'clock.

The Senate then proceeded to the order of the day, being

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of the Pas-
senger Railway Companies, in the city of Baltimore, and to
regulate the fares for transporting passengers,

The question being upon the amendment submitted by
Mr. Williams, on March 19, viz:

Section 1, line 6, strike out "six," and insert "five," also
strike out "section two."

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment to the
amendment.

Line 6, strike out "six cents," and insert "four cents,"
Which was rejected.

The question recurring upon the amendment submitted by
Mr. Williams,

It was adopted by yeas and nays as follows :
