On motion by Mr. Claggett,

.Leave was granted to Messrs. Claggett, Phelps and Craw-
ford, to Introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal chapter
410 of the Acts of Assembly," passed January Session, 1872,
entitled "An Act to repeal Section 2 of chapter 274," passed
January Session, 1870, entitled "An Act to repeal Section 2
of chapter 31 of the Acts of Assembly of 1865, in relation to
the publication of Local Laws, and to amend and re-enact the
said chapter 410," passed at January Session, 1872, with
amendments, and to amend and re-enact the same.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates, appeared and deliv-
ered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 21st, 1874.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message, proposing that the Presi-
dent of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Dele-
gates, address a joint letter to the Hon. William Pinkney
Whyte, informing him of his election to represent the State
of Maryland in the Senate of the United States, for six years
from the 4th day of March, 1875.

Chief Clerk.

Senate bill entitled '' An Act to authorize Hashabiah
Haines, of Carroll county, to settle his accounts as guardian to
Wm. L, Haines, in the Orphans' Court of Baltimore city,
and to deliver over the estate to Ms said ward."

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled "An Act to legalize the bequest of
Henry Rohr, late of Frederick county, deceased, to the Evan-
gelical Lutheran Congregation at Mount Zion, in Frederick
county, State of Maryland.''
