Amend by striking out the word "six" inline 6, section 1,
and insert the word "five" and by striking out "section 2."

Pending the consideration of said amendment.

On motion by Mr. Fields,
The Senate adjourned.

EVENING SESSION.
WEDNESDAY EVENING, .March 19th, 1874.

The Senate met at 8.5 o'clock, P. M.

Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Aydelott, Blake, Brewer, Billingsley,
Brattan, Claggett, Davis, Denson, Earle, Fields, Longwell,
Lloyd, Mudd, McCulloh, Steiner, Spencer, Tuck, Williams,
Walsh—20.

On motion by Mr. Claggett,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of bills on
second and third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to the Act
of 1865, chapter 151, entitled an Act to incorporate the
town of Newtown, in Worcester county, authorizing the
Town Commissioners of Newtown, to build a lock-up within
the limits of said town,

Was read the, third time and passed by yeas and nays
as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Longwell,

Aydelott, Lloyd,

Blake, Mudd,

Brewer, McCulloh,

Billingsley, Phelps,

Claggett, Steiner,

Davis, Spencer,
