Commissioners of Calvert county, to subscribe to the capital
stock of the Baltimore and Drum Point Rail Road Company,

Was reconsidered and the bill ordered to lie over.

Mr. Bratta.n, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the better security of
creditors.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported

The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to defray the expenses of painting the Portraits of
Governors Thomas Stone, William Paca and Thomas John-
son of Maryland, to be placed in Independence Hall at Phila-
delphia.

Which was read the first time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to establish a Board of
Public Charities,

Was considered, and

On motion by Mr. Steiner,
P ostponcd until Friday 20th instant.

The Senate bill entitled au Act to establish a State Board
of Health,

Was considered and postponed until Wednesday, the 18th.
instant.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to encourage and secure
Immigration from England, Scotland and other European
countries to the State of Maryland.

Was considered, and

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Was postponed until Wednesday next and made the order
of the day for 12 o'clock, M.

Mr. Stevens moved a call of the Senate, when the following
Senators responded:

Messrs. President, Blake, Brewer, Davis, Fields, Getty,
Longwell, McCulloh, Phelps, Stevens, Steiner, Suit, Wil-
liams—13.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to notify absent Senators,
that their presence was requested in the Senate Chamber.
