Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

Mr. Fields called up the Senate bill entitled an Act sup-
plemental to an Act passed March the 2nd, 1874, entitled an
Act to provide for the defence of Officers of Registrations and
Judges of Election who are or may be indicted in the United
States Court, for acts done in performance of duties imposed
by the Constitution and Laws of this State, which acts are
alleged to be in violation of the Act of Congress, approved
May 31st, 1870, an Act to enforce the rights of citizens of
the United States, to vote in the several States of this Union
and for other purposes.

Said bill being on second reading-
Mr. Williams moved to strike out ''two and insert ''one"
in line 3, section 1.

Which was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Fields,
Further consideration of the bill was ordered to lie over.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh, it was

Ordered, That the bill restoring persons to the Pension list
be made the order of the day for next Wednesday at 1 o'clock
P. M.

Mr. Earle moved that the bill relating to a Ship Canal, be
postponed until Tuesday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the further consideration of the Usury bill
be postponed and made the special order of the day for Tues-
day next, at 12 o'clock, M.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Knight submitted the following order :

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourn to-day it stands
adjourned until Monday next, at 11 o'clock, A. M.
