named in the first section of this Act, or a majority of them,
shall have full power and authority to manage the affairs of
said company, receive subscriptions to said capital stock, and
to appoint such officers and agents as may be necessary for
that purpose.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted. That when four hundred shares
of said capital stock have been subscribed, there shall be a
general meeting of the stockholders held, and thereafter at
such times and place as the President and Managers may de-
termine.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That all the property, estate and
stock of said company shall be bound and answerable for any
and all contracts and engagements made, or liability incurred
by the President and Managers thereof, or through their
agency, or by their authority; and service of any judicial pro-
cess upon the President or any of the Managers, shall be a
sufficient service upon the said corporation.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contained
shall confer upon said corporation banking privileges, or
authorize it to issue any notes, token or device, to be issued
as currency.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly re-
serves the right to alter, amend or repeal this Act at pleasure.

Sec, 9. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Mr. Steiner moved to postpone the further consideration of
the said bill, and that the bill be ordered to lie over until Wed-
nesday next.

Which was adopted.

The President laid before the Senate the following commu-
nication from his Excellency, Governor Grome :

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 12th, 1874.
To the Senate :

I have the honor to inform you that I have approved and
signed Senate Bills—

No. 55. A bill entitled an Act to add additional sections
to Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford
county, in regard to horses and carriages kept at livery, in
Harford county.

No. 58. A bill entitled an Act to prevent stock from run-
ning at large in Quantico, Wicomico county.

No. 72. A bill entitled an Act authorizing the Baltimore,
