Which was read and referred to Messrs. Brattan, Steiner
and Tuck.

On motion by Mr. Davis,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Davis, Claggett and Billings-
ley, to report a bill for the protection of persons and property
in Baltimore county.

Mr. Walsh presented the petition of Abraham Rutledge,
Thomas Wysong, Clement Butler, and other citizens of Har-
ford county, for the passage of a law providing for the elec-
tion of collectors of tax by the people.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Walsh, Longwell
and Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be directed to pay
to Professor Schaff the sum of one hundred and twelve dol-
lars, for music furnished on the 4th of March, 1874.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stevens, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported unfavorably on

The House bill entitled an Act to add a new Article to the
Code of Public Local Laws of Talbot county, to be entitled
"Sales of Spirituous or Fermented Liquors."

Mr. Lloyd moved that the further consideration of the un-
favorable report be postponed.

Which was adopted.

Also, reported unfavorably on

The Senate bill entitled an Act to prevent the sale of any
spirituous or intoxicating liquors within the limits of Dame's
Quarter District, in Somerset county.

Mr. Brattan moved to substitute the bill for the unfavora-
ble report.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Mudd, from the Joint Committee appointed to visit the
House of Reformation for the instruction of colored children,
submitted a Report.
