section 13 of the Act of 1872 entitled an Act to provide for
the Inspection of Steam Boilers in the city of Baltimore.

Which was read the second time.

The Hon. C. J. Pennington, Assistant Secretary of State,
having appeared and delivered a communication from His
Excellency, Governor Groome,

Endorsed, "Executive business."

On motion by Mr. Denson,
The Senate proceeded to Executive Session.
Having resumed Legislative Business,

Mr. Walsh, from a Select Committee, to which had been
referred said bill, reported favorably on

The House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Harford county, to subscribe to the capital
stock of a railroad passing through said county.

Mr. Longwell presented the petition of A. H. Barnes, and
twenty-five other citizens of Carroll county, in favor of taxing
dogs, for the protection of sheep.

Which was read and referred to the Committee oti Agri-
culture.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 99, 102, 103, 104,
105, 110, 118, 120, 123 and 124 of Article IV. of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore City," sub-title
"Auction," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Brewer,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Temperance to re-
port a bill entitled an Act to amend and re-enact sections 1,
4, 18 and 58, to 86 inclusive, of Article LVI. of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Licenses," to repeal section
19 of said Article, and to add further sections to said Article
regulating the sale of spirituous liquors.

On motion by Mr. Claggett,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 16,
Article XXIX. of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Courts," sub-title "Judgments," and to amend and re-
enact the same.

Mr. Brattan presented the petition of certain citizens of
Somerset county, protesting against the passage of a Fence
Law.
