AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

After the words "be it enacted," in the second section,
strike out the remainder of the section, and insert the follow-
ing : "That any person or persons violating the preceding-
section, shall, on conviction thereof, be adjudged guilty of a
misdemeanor, and after presentment and indictment by a
Grand Jury, and conviction, be fined not less than five dol-
lars, nor more than ten dollars for each and every partridge
trapped, caught, killed or wounded, and in default of pay-
ment of said fine and the costs of prosecution, to be impris-
oned not less than ten nor more than thirty days; one-half
of which fine shall be paid to the County Commissioners of
Washington county, for the use of the Public Schools of said
county, and the other half to the informer."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of the Cam-
bridge and Chesapeake Rail Road Company,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
;i third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to remove the water-closets from their present locality,
and place them in the cellar of the State House, and to make
two Committee Rooms for the use of the Senate, out of the
space now occupied by said water-closets,

Being on second reading,

Mr. Walsh moved to fill the blanks in sections 2 and 3,
with the names of R. C. Holliday, John R. Blake and Au-
gustus Gassaway.

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Williams, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on

The House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the West
Friendship and London Turnpike Company.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported fa-
vorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the general
valuation and assessment of all property in this State.
