Mr. Walsh presented a communication from the Maryland
Agricultural and Mechanical Association, relative to pro-
curing farm laborers, and remonstrating against the passage of
the Dog Law,

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

On motion by Mr. Fields,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Fields, Billingsley and. Phelps,
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of
Hillsborough, in Caroline county.

Mr. Davis asked leave for a Select Committee to report n
bill entitled au Act provide for the general valuation and
assessment of all property in this State.

Which was rejected.

The leave was then, referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Brewer,

Leave was granted to Senator Brewer to withdraw from
the the files of the Senate, the bill entitled an A et. in relation
to the Meridian Line standard.

On motion by Mr. Mudd,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Charles county to value and re-assess a tract or
parcel of land attached to St. Mary's Church, near Bryan-
town, in the Eighth Election District, and assessed in the
name of the Archbishop of Baltimore.

Mr. Denson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
on

The House bill entitled an. Act to repeal, amend and re-
enact chapter 287, of the Act of 1870, entitled an Act to re-
peal section 810, of Article IV. of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Baltimore, chapter 367.

Which was read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Denson,

The rules were suspended, so as to give a third reading
this day to the said bill, as follows :
