498 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 9,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 193 of
Article III. Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore county,"
sub-title "Sheriff" and re-enact the same to read as follows,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to increase the facilities of
the grain market of the State, by giving effect and negotia-
bility to elevator receipts,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to Thomas Clag-
gett, Charles Claggett and Woodbury Wheeler, (Attorneys of
William De Craux and Isaac Scaggs,) certain monies errone-
ously paid into the Treasury,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to alter and amend chapter
193 of the Acts of 1872, regulating the measurement of oys-
ters in the port of Crisfield and the city of Baltimore,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to encourage the destruc-
tion of Hawks in Harford and Worcester counties,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to continue ia force the
Act to incorporate the Maryland Sunday School Union.

Being on second reading,

Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:

Line 5 after "force" insert, "perpetually subject to the
right of the General Assembly to amend or repeal the same
at pleasure."

Which, was read and adopted.

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend and add another
section to Article III. of the Public General Laws, entitled
"Agents and Factors,"

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
