EVENING SESSION,

THURSDAY EVENING, March 5th, 1874.
The Senate met at 8 o'clock, P. M.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Aydelott, Brewer, Brattan, Davis,
Earle, Getty, Knight, Longwell, McCulloh, Steiner, Tuck,
Williams, Walsh—14.

On motion by Mr. Steiner, it was

Ordered, that this Session be devoted to the consideration
of bills on their third reading, and that each Senator be called
upon in turn to propose a bill.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to chapter 434 of the Acts of 1870, entitled an Act to
extend the jurisdiction of Justices of the Peaee in and for
Dorchester, Kent, Caroline, Calvert, Carroll, Queen Anne's,
Anne Arundel, Prince George's Harford, Charles and Wor-
cester counties to cases of assault and battery,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Brattan, Steiner,
Davis, Tuck,
Earle, Williams,
Getty, Walsh—14.
NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Clerk of
of the County Commissioners for Somerset county to admin-
ister oaths in certain cases,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:
