Fields, Williams—10.

Mr. Suit submitted the following amendment:

Section 48 strike out the words "Governor of the State of
Maryland" in line 13, and insert "County Commissioners."

Which was rejected.

Also,

Submitted the following amendment :

Section 51 strike out in line 2 "Governor of the State of
Maryland, and insert "County Commissioners."

Which was rejected.

The question being upon the engrossment of the bill,

It was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Stevens submitted the following order :

Ordered, That for the purpose of disposing of the business
of the Senate, now so rapidly accumulating, that night ses-
sions of the Senate be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights
of this week.

Which was adopted.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize and em-
power the Board of Police Commissioners of the city of Balti-
more to purchase a lot of ground in fee in said city, and to
have erected thereon a suitable station house, to have the
title thereof vested in the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, and to pay the costs and expense thereof out of the
special fund of the said Board of Police Commissioners.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to compensate Henry A.
Silver, for services in the discharge of the duties of State
Librarian, from February 2nd to April 5th, 1870,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
