to which had been referred the Senate bill entitled "An Act
to amend an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Methodiat
Episcopal Church, in Frederick, passed February 24th, 1841,
chapter 125," reported said bill with the following amend-
ment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend the 2d section by striking out the words "from the-
date of its passage," and insert "whenever it shall be ac-
cepted and assented to by a majority of the Board of Trustees-
of the Methodist Episcopal Church, of Frederick."

Which was adopted.

The said bill, as amended, was read the second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Also reported

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to establish a Board of
Public Charities," with the following amendment:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED BY THE COMMITTEE.

Sec. —. Line 7, strike out the words "both public and
private.'

Sec. 3. Lines 4 and 5, strike out the words "whether pub-
lic or private."

On motion by Mr, Claggett,

The bill was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill entitled "An Act to add a section to
Article XXXVII. of the Code of Public General Laws, title
'Evidence,';sub-title 'Competency of Witnesses.' "

The Senate proceeded to the order of the day, being

The House bill entitled "An Act to add a new Article to
the Code of Public Local Laws of Talbot county, to be enti-
tled 'Sales of Spirituous or Fermented Liquors,' "

Was considered and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

52 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled Prince George's,'
