FIRST. Be it resolved by the General Assembly of
|

Maryland, That the Eastern Shore Rail Road com-
|
 
|
pany at its earliest convenience, be and itis hereby di-
|
 
|
rected to inform the Board of Public Works of this
|

State, by what authority the said trustees are acting in
|
form
|
the premises, and also to furnish to said board, copies
|
 
|
of such proceedings of the said bondholders of the
|
 
|
aforesaid company, as relate to the management and
|
 
|
operation of the said railroad ; and also to inform the
|
 
|
said board by whom the said board is operated, and
|
 
|
by whom its corporate franchises are used and em-
|
 
|
ployed, in order that the said board may submit the
|
 
|
same, together with a copy of the said mortgages to
|
 
|
the State, to the Attorney General for his opinion
|
 
|
in writing as to the proper means to be adopted to
|
 
|
secure the interest of the State, without prejudice to
|
 
|
the rights of the said bondholders.
|
 
|
SECOND. And be it resolved, That the Attorney Gen-

WHEREAS, there is a deep sympathy felt upon the
|

ity, which is shared by those who are citizens by

birth, in the continued imprisonment, attended by
|

rigorous, and it is said cruel treatment of numbers

of State prisoners, convicted of being engaged in a
