CHAPTER 501.

AN ACT to repeal the act passed at January session,

eighteen hundred and seventy-two, chapter two

hundred and thirty-seven, entitled " an act to pro-

vide for the collection of arrearages of State taxes

due on the shares of capital stock of National Banks

and banking associations in this State and doing

business therein."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repealed

Maryland, That the act passed at January session,

eighteen hundred and seventy-two, chapter two hun-

dred and thirty-seven, entitled " an act to provide

for the collection of arrearages of State taxes due

on the shares of National Banks and banking asso-

ciations located in this State and doing business

therein," be and the same is hereby repealed; pro-

vided, that said repeal shall not effect or impair any
right vested, or acquired, or existing at the time of said

repeal under the said act; nor shall it impair, dis-

charge or release any contract, obligation, duty, lia-

bility or penalty whatsoever now existing ; but that

all suits and actions pending, and prosecutions for

penalties under said act, including all civil and crim-

inal proceedings whatsoever, shall be prosecuted and

proceeded with to final determination, and judgment

entered therein as if said act had not been repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

effect from the date of its passage.
