CHAPTER 493.
|
 
|
AN ACT to repeal, amend and re-enact section
|
 
|
ninety-four of the act of Assembly, chapter two
|
 
|
hundred and ninety-four, passed January session,
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and seventy, entitled " an act to
|
 
|
add additional sections to the Code of Public Lo-
|
 
|
cal Laws for Charles county, under the head of
|
 
|
roads."
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That the said county commissioners if, in
|

provision for

their discretion, they deem it expedient, may make
provision for the employment of one or more per-
|
 
|
manent corps of laborers, not exceeding nine corps
|
 
|
for the county, for the repair of the roads and bridges
|
 
|
in said county, under the supervision of such officer
|
 
|
or officers of sufficient skill and experience for the
|
 
|
purpose ; and they shall require any officer or offi-
|
 
|
cers, appointed for such purpose, to give bond in such
|

penalty, and with such security as they may fix and

|
approve, and with such conditions as they may pre-
|
 
|
scribe in regard to the duties to be performed, the
|
 
|
use, safe keeping, due return of all property placed
|
 
|
in their charge, and the proper disposal of all moneys

|
coming into their hands for road purposes.

|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
