the same is hereby repealed, and the following en-

acted in lieu thereof:

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

SEC. 79. There shall be three County Commission-

are hereby required to meet in the office of the Board

of County Commissioners, in the City of Annapolis,

the first Tuesday in each month, and as much oftener

as the public interest may require, and shall continue
in session at least two days during each session of

the circuit court, and one week at their meeting in

January, for the purpose of making transfers.

Compensation.

SEC. 80. The said commissioners shall receive four

dollars per day each for every day they shall neces-

sarily attend to the duties of their office; provided

that no commissioner shall receive a larger sum than

three hundred dollars a year ; and it shall not be law-

ful for them to take or receive any gift, consideration,

perquisite, mileage or compensation, other than that

provided for by this section, in consideration of their

services as county commissioners, or because of their

action as such.

SEC. 81. Be it enacted, That they shall be exempt

county, and it shall not be lawful for the sheriff to

summon them as such.

SEC. 82. Be it enacted, That the clerk to the county

commissioners of said county shall receive such sal-

ary as they may determine.

SEC. 83. Be it enacted, That he shall, before he en-

ters upon the duties of his office, execute a bond to

bond shall be recorded in the office of the clerk of

the circuit court of said county.
