The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and re-
turned,

Senate bill entitled "An Act to lay out and establish a new
election district in Somerset county, out of Lawson's District
No. 8 and Smith's Island District No. 7, to be called Cris-
field District No. 10."

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also, delivered

The House bill entitled "An Act to provide for the defence
of Officers of Registration and Judges of Elections who are
or may be indicted in the United States Court for acts done
in the performance of duties imposed by the Constitution and
Laws of this State, which acts are alleged to be in violation
of the Act of Congress, approved May the 31st, 1870, en-
titled an Act to enforce the rights of citizens of the United
States to vote in the several States of this Union and for
other purposes."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Davis, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings
reported favorably

The Senate bill entitled "Au Act to repeal section 15, of
Article XXIX. of the Code of Public General Laws and re-
enact the same."

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Steiner submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Senate shall hold two evening sessions
the present week, say on Tuesday and Friday, sitting from
8 to 11 P. M.

Which was rejected.

On motion by Mr. Earle, it was

Ordered, That the Treasurer report to the Senate, at the
earliest practicable day, the monthly balances standing to the
credit of the State or to the credit of the Treaurer in the
Banks, selected as depositaries of the public monies, during
the fiscal year ended on the 30th of September 1873, noting
in his report, the names of the several Banks and the amounts
standing to the credit of the State or the Treasurer in each.

Mr. Blake called up

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to establish a Commis-
sion of Fisheries of the State of Maryland, define its duties.
