candidates at such election, to cast a separate and dis-
tinct ballot, on which shall be written or printed the
words " For Railroad Subscriptions," or the words
" Against Railroad Subscriptions," as the case may	Duty of the

deposit the same in boxes different from those in
which the ballots cast for candidates at said election
are deposited ; and the said judges shall accurately
count, and duly return to the clerk of the circuit
court for said county, the number of votes cast for
railroad subscription, and the number of votes cast
against railroad subscription ; and the said clerk
shall, within twenty days after the receipt of said
returns, by proclamation inserted in the newspapers
published in said county, announce the result of said
vote.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall be
published in the newspapers published in the said
county, for two months preceding the next election of	Published
members of the House of Delegates, and shall be sub-
ject to the approval of a majority of all the members
elected to each House of the General Assembly of
Maryland at its next session after said election.

CHAPTER 456.
AN ACT to provide for the protection of birds in
Garrett county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person	Not lawful.

or destroy any blue birds, swallows, martins, cat-
birds, woodpeckers, sparrows, wrens, whippowills,
or any other insectivorous birds, at any season of
the year, under the penalty of two dollars for each
bird so taken, killed or destroyed.
