CHAPTER 445.

 

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of twelve thou-

 

sand dollars, or as much thereof as may be neces-

 

sary, to add a tire-proof addition to the building

 

known as the Comptroller's office, in the City of

 

Annapolis.

 

WHEREAS, The Committee on Public Buildings in

Preamble.

pursuance of an order passed by the House of Dele-

 

gates, authorizing them to secure the services of an

 

architect to prepare plans for an addition and im-

 

provement to the buildings known as the Comp-

 

troller's office ; and —

 

WHEREAS, The plans prepared as aforesaid have

 

been submitted to the Comptroller of the Treasury,

Commissioner of the Land Office, and President of

 

the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, and fully

 

approved by them ; and —

 

WHEREAS, The building known as the Comp-

 

troller's office is entirely too small to accommodate

Treasury, the Commissioner of the Land Office, the

 

Board of Directors of the Chesapeake and Ohio

 

Canal Company, and the Insurance Commissioner,

 

all of whom conduct and transact the business of

 

their respective departments in said building; and —

 

WHEREAS, The limited space afforded by said

 

building for the transaction of the business of said

vouchers of great value to the State, in an unsafe

 

and exposed condition ; therefore —

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Appropriation.

Maryland, That the sum of twelve thousand dollars,

 

or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the

 

same is hereby appropriated to erect a fire-proof

 

addition to the building known as the Comptroller's

 

office, in the City of Annapolis.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Levin Woolford,

 

William R. Hayward and Arthur P. Gorman be and
