CHAPTER 439.

AN ACT to regulate the issuing of licenses for the
|
 
|
sale of spirituous and fermented liquors in this
|
 
|
State.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|

Maryland, That from and after the passage of this
act, it shall not be lawful for the Clerks of the Circuit
|
 
|
Courts of this State, to issue any license for the sale
|
 
|
of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer to
|
 
|
any person or body politic in this State, unless such
|

person or body politic, shall have been recom-
|
 
|
mended to said clerks by the grand jury, which shall
|
 
|
have been in session at the term next preceding the
|
 
|
first day of May, in each and every year, in the
|
 
|
county where the applicant for such license shall
|
 
|
reside; provided, however, that this act or any of its
|
 
|
provisions shall not apply to Baltimore city, Balti-
|
 
|
more, Prince George's, Allegany, Somerset, Carroll,
|

chester and Anne Arundel counties.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of

CHAPTER 440.
|

AN ACT to incorporate the town of Vienna, Dor-
|
 
|
chester county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the citizens of the town of Vienna,
|
Incorporated.
|
in Dorchester county are abody corporate by the name
|
 
|
of the Commissioners of the town of Vienna, and
|
 
|
by that name may have perpetual succession, sue
|
 
|
and be sued, and may have and use a common seal,
|
 
|
which they may alter or break at pleasure.
