CHAPTER 439.
AN ACT to regulate the issuing of licenses for the
sale of spirituous and fermented liquors in this
State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of	Not lawful
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act, it shall not be lawful for the Clerks of the Circuit
Courts of this State, to issue any license for the sale
of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer to
any person or body politic in this State, unless such	Unless
person or body politic, shall have been recom-
mended to said clerks by the grand jury, which shall
have been in session at the term next preceding the
first day of May, in each and every year, in the
county where the applicant for such license shall
reside; provided, however, that this act or any of its
provisions shall not apply to Baltimore city, Balti-
more, Prince George's, Allegany, Somerset, Carroll,	Not apply
Howard, Washington, Wicomico, St Mary's, Dor-
chester and Anne Arundel counties.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of	Repealed.
acts, inconsistent with this act, be and the same are
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 440.
AN ACT to incorporate the town of Vienna, Dor-
chester county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the citizens of the town of Vienna,	Incorporated.
in Dorchester county are abody corporate by the name
of the Commissioners of the town of Vienna, and
by that name may have perpetual succession, sue
and be sued, and may have and use a common seal,
which they may alter or break at pleasure.
