SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That so soon as any part

hereby authorized and empowered to collect tolls and
exercise as full and complete jurisdiction over the

same as if the whole was completed ; and no parts

taken away by reason of the failure to complete the
|
 
|
whole work, or by uniting with any other canal or
|
 
|
slack water company, both or altogether forming a
|
 
|
continuous navigation from the terminus of the
|
 
|
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal at Cumberland to the
|
 
|
Ohio River.
|
 
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act, so far as
|
 
|
the State of Maryland is concerned, shall take effect
|

from and after the date of its passage, and upon re-
ceiving the assent of the States of West Virginia
|
 
|
and Pennsylvania, the whole and every section and.
|
 
|
part thereof shall be valid, and in full force and
|
 
|
operation.
|
 
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the General As-

sembly of Maryland hereby reserves to itself the

right to alter, amend or repeal this act at its pleasure.
