SUB-SECTION F. The chief of police and the police

officers shall do duty by day and by night, and shall

shall also enforce its ordinances and the various laws

and acts of Assembly relating to said city ; but they

of penalty arising out of such ordinances, laws or
|

acts.

SUB-SECTION G. It shall be the duty of the city

police officers to collect the fines that may hereafter

the aldermen, or any justice of the peace, for viola-

tions of any of the laws of the said city; and they

shall pay said fines into the hands of the city treas-

urer as soon as received, and take his receipt therefor,

which they will deliver to the chief of police, to be

preserved by him and returned to the board at each
|

regular monthly meeting thereof.

SUB-SECTION H. The chief of police and each mem-
|

ber of the police force shall provider himself with
|

and wear whenever on duty the following uniform,

viz: a dark blue single-breasted frock-coat with

policeman's buttons, with standing collar, with a
|
 
|
badge, with suitable device on the outside of the
|
 
|
left breast of the coat, in such manner and place as
|
 
|
that it cannot be obscured by any portion of the
|
 
|
raiment ; and dark blue vest and pataloons, straw
|
 
|
hats in summer, and dark blue caps, with glazed
|
 
|
covers in winter, and dark blue cloth overcoat with
|
 
|
same buttons in winter.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall
|
 
|
take effect from the date of its passage.
