CHAPTER 417.
AN ACT to repeal section seventy-two, of article
five, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
" Calvert county, " sub-title sheriff, " and to re-
enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section seventy-two, of article five,	Repealed and
of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled " Calvert	re-enacted
county, " sub-title " sheriff, " be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows :
72. The Sheriff of Calvert county, shall receive
forty cents a day for keeping and boarding each
prisoner in jail, and shall also receive for the trans-	Compensation
portation and delivery from Prince Frederic to the
State Penitentiary of every person convicted by the
Circuit Court for said county, and sentenced to said
penitentiary, a sum not to exceed twenty-five dollars,
for each; and every person so transported and de-
livered, to be levied for and paid by the county
commissioners, and the said county commissioners,
may allow such smaller compensation for such duty,
graduating the allowance according to the number
of convicts carried to the penitentiary, as in their
judgment may be adequate.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That all acts or parts
of acts inconsistent with this act, are hereby repealed.	Repealed.
SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, This act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.	In force.
