The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and re-
turned

The Senate bill entitled ''An Act for the relief of Bank of
Commerce, cancelling three thousand and eight hundred
shares in the capital stock thereof, representing a portion of
its assets, and reducing the par value of all other shares in
its capital stock."

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays.''

The Hon. C. J, Pennington appeared and delivered the
following communication from His Excellency, the Governor:

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT.

ANNAPOLIS, February 17th, 1874.
To the Senate:

I have the honor to return herewith, with my assent and
approval, Senate bill No. 3, entitled "An Act to limit the
hours of labor in this State for all minors under sixteen years
of age."

WM. PINKNEY WHYTE.

Mr. Davis, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably on

The House bill entitled ''An Act to repeal so much of the
Act passed'at the January Session, 1870, chapter 434, enti-
tled an Act to extend the jurisdiction of the Justices of the
Peace, in and for Dorchester, Kent, Caroline, Calvert, Car-
roll, Queens Anne's Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Har-
ford, Charles and Worcester counties to cases of 'Assault and
Battery,' and to extend the right of appeal, so far only as
the same relates to Kent county."

Which was read the second time.

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to prevent the sale of any
spirituous or intoxicating liquors within the limits of Dames'
Quarter District, in Somerset county,"
