SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury
|
 
|
upon satisfactory evidence of the above recited facts,
|
 
|
draw his warrant upon the Treasurer for the sum of
|
 
|
three hundred dollars, which said Treasurer shall
|
 
|
and he is hereby directed to pay to the said Jacob
|
 
|
Socey, out of any moneys in the Treasury of the
|
 
|
State not otherwise appropriated.
|

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
 
|
from and after its passage.
|

AN ACT to repeal section one of article twenty-
|
 
|
eight, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
|
 
|
" County Commissioners, " and to re-enact the
|
 
|
same with amendments.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Repealed and
|
Maryland, That section one, article twenty-eight, of
|
re-enacted
|
the Code of Public General Laws, title " County
|
 
|
Commissioners, " be and the same is hereby repealed
|
 
|
and re-enacted so as to read as follows :
|

SEC. 1. The County Commissioners of each county
in this State, are declared to be a corporation, and
|
 
|
shall have full power to appoint judges of election,
|
 
|
road supervisors, collectors of taxes, trustees of the
|
 
|
poor, a clerk to their board, and all other officers
|
Powers
|
agents, and servants required for county purposes,
|
 
|
not otherwise provided for by law or by the Con-
|
 
|
stitution, and they shall have charge of and control
|
 
|
over the property owned by the county, and over
|
 
|
county roads and bridges, and may whenever in
|
 
|
their opinion the public interest require or will be
