chapter three hundred and sixty-four, entitled " an
act to incorporate the Baltimore and Drum Point
Railroad Company," be and the same is hereby
atriended and re-enacted so as to read as follows :
12. The President and Directors of said company
shall be and they are hereby invested with all the	Invested with
rights and powers necessary to the construction,	rights and
working, use, repair, and maintenance of a railroad,	powers
from some suitable point in or near the city of Bal-
timore, and thence to a point at or near the mouth
of the Patuxent River, to be selected by the President
and Directors of the said company hereby incorpo-
rated, with such branch or branches at any point or
points of said railroad, not exceeding twenty miles
in length, as the said President and Directors may
at any time deem expedient; the said road and its
branches when completed not to be more than sixty-	When complete
six feet wide, except at or near its depots and sta-
tions, where the width may be greater, with as many
tracks as the said President and Directors may deem
necessary and expedient, and with the right to ac-
quire such quantity of land, as may be requisite for
the construction and use of the said road, or of any
of its branches of the width of sixty-six feet, and such
additional width as may be required for the slopes of
excavations and embankments; and the said Presi-
dent "and Directors may cause to be made, or may	May cause to
contract with others for making said railroad, or any	be made
part of it, or any of its branches; and they or their
agents, or those with whom they may contract or
their agents, may enter upon and use and excavate
any lands which may be wanted for the site of said
road, or of any of its branches, or the erection of ware-
houses or other works necessary for the said road or for
its construction, or repair, or for any of its branches,
or the construction and repair thereof; and they may
build bridges, fix scales and weights, lay rails, take and	Build bridges.

tion, working, use, and repairing of the said road or
any of its branches, or of any of its works, and may
make and construct all works whatever, which may
be necessary or expedient in order to the proper
