atriended and re-enacted so as to read as follows :

12. The President and Directors of said company
|

shall be and they are hereby invested with all the

working, use, repair, and maintenance of a railroad,

from some suitable point in or near the city of Bal-

timore, and thence to a point at or near the mouth

rated, with such branch or branches at any point or

points of said railroad, not exceeding twenty miles

in length, as the said President and Directors may

at any time deem expedient; the said road and its

branches when completed not to be more than sixty-

six feet wide, except at or near its depots and sta-

tions, where the width may be greater, with as many

tracks as the said President and Directors may deem

necessary and expedient, and with the right to ac-

quire such quantity of land, as may be requisite for

the construction and use of the said road, or of any
|

of its branches of the width of sixty-six feet, and such

additional width as may be required for the slopes of

excavations and embankments; and the said Presi-

dent "and Directors may cause to be made, or may
