and directed, to audit and settle the accounts of

Thomas Perry, Oliver Perry, Samuel Smith, Thomas

Nutwell, Samuel Thomas, Edward Owens, Edward
|
 
|
Prout, Phillip Prout, Isaac Nutwell, Mercer Owens,
|
 
|
Albert Starlings, Thomas Owings, and Beal Owings,
|
 
|
for expenses cost incurred in attendance in the United
|
 
|
States District Court of Maryland, in the year eighteen
|
 
|
hundred and seventy-two ; and upon final settle-
|
 
|
ment of the same to pay to said named parties the
|
 
|
respective amounts due thereon.
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said commissioners
|
pay or levy
|
be and they are hereby authorized, in their discre-
|
 
|
tion, to pay or levy for the expenses and defence of
|
 
|
the registers and judges of the last election in said
|
 
|
county, who have been indicted in the said United
|
 
|
States District Court.
|

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
|
 
|

CHAPTER 362.
|
 
|
AN ACT to repeal section thirty-one, of article
|
 
|
twelve, Code of Public Local Laws, title " Har-
|
 
|
ford county," sub-title, " County Commissioners,"
|
 
|
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
|
Repealed and
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
re-enacted
|
Maryland, That section thirty-one, of article twelve,
|
 
|
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Harford
|
 
|
county," sub-title "County Commissioners," relating
|
 
|
to the salary of the clerk to the County Commissioners,
|
 
|
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
|
 
|
so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
SEC. 31. He shall receive such annual salary as the
|
Salary of clerk.
|
County Commissioners shall direct, not exceeding
|
 
|
the sum of five hundred dollars.
