CHAPTER 343.
AN ACT to repeal the one hundred and seventh,
one hundred and eighth, one hundred and ninth,
one hundred and tenth, one hundred and twelfth,
one hundred and fourteenth, one hundred and
fifteenth, one hundred and eighteenth, and one hun-
dred and nineteenth sections, of article seven, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Mary-
land, relating to the City of Westminster, in Car-
roll county, and to re-enact the same in an
amended or different form.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of	Repealed and
Maryland, That the one hundred and seventh, one	re- enacted
hundred and eighth, one hundred and ninth, one
hundred and tenth, one hundred and twelfth, one
hundred and fourteenth, one hundred and fifteenth,
one hundred and eighteenth, and one hundred and
nineteenth sections, of article seven, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, relating to the
charter of the City of Westminster in Carroll county.
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted
so as to read as follows :
SEC. 107. The Mayor and Common Council of	Purchase and
Westminster shall have power to purchase and hold	hold
real, personal and mixed property for the use and benefit of said corporation, and to convey and dispose
of the same or any part thereof; for the same pur-
pose, they shall also have power to pass all ordinances not contrary to law, necessary within the limits of	Pass ordinance
said city to preserve the health, peace and safety of
the inhabitants thereof; to prevent and remove
nuisances and annoyances; to restrain all disorders
and disturbances ; to suppress gambling; to prevent
the firing of cannon, guns, pistols, fire-crackers or
other explosive intruments or materials in the cor-
porate limits; to suppress fires and prevent the
danger thereof; to make or cause to be made and	Made and

bridges; to license public amusements, shows and exhibitions, fix the sums of money to be paid there-
