LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

CHAPTER 336.

 

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for the-

 

support and maintenance of the Maryland Inebriate

 

Asylum.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Appropriation.

Maryland, That the sum of three thousand dollars
per annum, for the years eighteen hundred and sev-

 

enty-four and eighteen hundred and seventy-five,

 

be and the same is hereby appropriated for the sup-

 

port and maintenance of the Maryland Inebriate

 

Asylum; and the Comptroller of the Treasury is

 

hereby authorized and required to issue his warrant

 

upon the Treasurer for said amounts, upon the first
day of June, of the years eighteen hundred and

 

seventy-four and eighteen hundred and seventy-live

 

respectfully, payable to the order of the Board of

 

Directors of said asylum; provided, that no assist-

 

ance is received from the license law.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

In force

effect from and after the date of its passage.

 

Approved April 11th, 1874.

 

CHAPTER 337.

 

AN ACT to regulate the building of joint fences in

 

Howard county.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Joint fences

Maryland, That whenever joint fences have been or

 

may be established in said county for the mutual

 

benefit of different owners or possessors of adjoining

 

lands, each party shall keep in good repair his just
proportion thereof, in the manner following : all post

 

and rail or plank fences shall be at least four feet and

 

a half high ; all stone fences shall be at least four feet

 

high ; and all worm or other fences shall be at least

 

five feet high ; the height in every case to be com-

 

puted from the ground or base of any embankment.
