their hands and seals of a majority of them, or the

hand and seal of any of them, to be appropriated by
|
 
|
themselves to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
|
 
|
Harford county, in a similar manner as now provided
|
 
|
by law in general elections throughout the State, and
|
 
|
it shall be the duty of said clerk as soon as may be
|
 
|
after the returns are made, to inform the Com-
|
 
|
missioners so elected and administer to them sep-
|

arately, the following oath or affirmation : " I, ——

make oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God,
or affirmation, that I will faithfully and without

partiality discharge the duties of Commissioner of

which shall be within the text-book for other officers
|

in the custody of the said clerk, and signed by the
|
 
|
said Commissioners; which said oath and signing
|
 
|
shall be deemed the qualification of the said Com-
|
 
|
missioners ; and it shall be the duty of the said clerk
|
 
|
to administer the said oath or a similar one, and
|
 
|
have it signed by the officers of the said town sub-
|
 
|
sequently elected or appointed.

|
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the commission-
|
 
|
ers of the said town, after the first election and
|

shall have full power and authority to order and
|
 
|
direct such other elections as may be necessary un-
|
 
|
der the provisions of this act, to give notice thereof,
|
 
|
to determine upon the number of judges of such

elections, who shall act and make their returns as
|
 
|
provided in the preceding section, appoint them, and
|
 
|
fix the place for opening the polls, and the hours
|
 
|
they shall be kept open, and to call such town meet-
|
 
|
ings as they may deem expedient from time to time.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That if the inhabitants
