Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Walsh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to pay to A. W. Bateman a sum of money due
him for rent of an Armory in the town of Bel Air, Harford
county.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave of absence was granted to George Walls until
Monday next.

Mr. Claggett presented the petition of J. A. Miller and
sixty-two other citizens of Washington county, to the Legis-
lature, to consider the expediency of constructing fish ladders
and fish-ways and channels, to admit the passage of fish over
obstructions in the Potomac River.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Tuck presented the petition of Keziah Hutchinson, of
Anne Arundel county, widow of Theodore Hutchinson, de-
ceased, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Also,

The memorial of Committee of Alumni of St. John's Col-
lege to General Assembly.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Billingsley presented the memorial of the Baltimore
Normal School for the Education of Colored Teachers.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Walsh, from a Select Committee, reported favorably

A bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the Mary-
land Agricultural College, passed at January Session, 1856,
chapter 97."

Which was read the first time.

On motion by Mr. Fields,
The Senate adjourned.
