faculty, setting forth that they will receive and

 

educate annually without charge, save for matricula-

 

tion and dissection fees, one student from each

 

legislative district of this State, to be recommended

 

by the Senator or Delegates from said district, so

 

long as the property is used for college purposes.

In force.

SEC. 3. Be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 267.

 

AN ACT to prohibit trespassing with gun or dog

 

upon private land in Dorchester county, and pre-

 

scribing penalties therefor —

Misdemeanor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That every person who shall within the

 

limits of Dorchester county, enter upon the lands of

 

another with gun or dog, and shoot or kill any

 

partridge, lark, dove, or robin, or any insectivorous

 

bird of any kind whatsoever, or any rabbit or squirrel,

 

shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall

 

be liable to presentment and indictment therefor by

 

the grand jury of said county, and upon conviction

 

thereof, shall be fined not less than five dollars,

Penalty

or more than fifty dollars, or be imprisoned in the

 

jail of said county, not less than one month or more

 

than three mouths, or be both fined and imprisoned

 

as aforesaid, in the discretion of the court before

 

which said presentment or indictment shall be tried;

 

provided that the owner or possessor of the land tres-

 

passed upon has by notice through some newspaper

 

published in.Dorchester county, or by posters placed

 

in at least five of the most conspicious places upon

 

said land forwarned all persons from hunting with

 

dog or gun thereupon, and that the person presented

 

or indicted, has not afterwards obtained the per-

 

mission of said owner or possessor so to hunt or gun.
