LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, His Excellency the Governor, has cer-

 

tified to this General Assembly that said fines of said

 

John W. Tyler, Major Todd, and Henry F. Chelton,

 

ought to be remitted, and that the same would have

 

been remitted if the said State's portion of said fines had

 

not been previously paid into the Treasury : and the

 

Treasurer and Comptroller have recommended the

 

payment of the same ; therefore —

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That the Treasurer be and he is hereby

 

authorized and directed to pay on the warrant of the

Appropriation
John W. Tyler

Comptroller, to the said John W. Tyler, the sum of

 

one hundred and fifty-four dollars; the said Henry

 

F. Chelton the sum of two hundred and twenty-five

 

dollars ; and the said Major Todd the sum of seventy-

 

five dollars ; the said several sums being the amounts

 

of the State's portion of said fines respectively, or so

 

much thereof as may have been actually paid into

 

the Treasury.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

In force.

effect from the date of its passage.

 

Approved, April 6th, 1874.

 

CHAPTER 258.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Maryland Trust, Safe

 

Deposit and Insurance Company of Baltimore.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That Chauncy Brooks, Francis Burns,

Incorporated.

George W. Dobbin, Thomas C. Jenkins, Samuel G.

 

Wyman, Joseph H. Reiman, William F. Burns,

 

Nicholas C. Penniman, Walter B. Brooks, Hiram

 

Woods, C. Morton Stewart and all other persons

 

who shall hereafter become stockholders in the com-

 

pany incorporated, shall be a body corporate by the

 

name and style of the Maryland Trust, Safe Deposit

 

and Insurance Company of Baltimore, and by that

 

name shall have perpetual succession, and sue and

 

be sued in any court whatever.
