LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Sanction given
to bequest.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That assent is hereby given to carry into
effect, the said bequest contained in the last will and

 

testament of Amelia Matthews, (colored,) late of the

 

City of Baltimore, deceased, in favor of the Rev. Mr.

 

Miller, Priest in charge of St. Francis Xavier, Roman

 

Catholic Church, located in Calvert street near

 

Pleasant street, in the City of Baltimore, or to his

 

successor in charge, for the use and benefit of said

 

church.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Rev. Peter

Authorized to

L. Miller, or his successor in charge of the said

clmrch as aforesaid, be and he is hereby "authorized

 

and empowered to receive from the executor of said

 

deceased, the said sum of three hundred dollars

 

bequeathed as aforesaid, and that the release of the

 

said Rev. Peter L. Miller, or his successor in charge

 

of said church, to said executor after payment of said

 

sum, shall be a full release of said bequest.

In force

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 240.

 

AN ACT to repeal the fifth section of the act of the

 

General Assembly of Maryland, passed at Jan-

 

uary session, eighteen hundred and fifty-six, chap-

 

ter one hundred and nine, entitled an act to

 

amend an act, entitled an act to incorporate the

 

Fremont Savings' Institution of Baltimore, by

 

allowing said Institution the privilege embraced

 

under the act entitled an act to continue the cor-

 

porate existence of the several banking institutions

 

therein mentioned, passed at January session,

 

eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter four

 

hundred and forty-one.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
