AN ACT to amend an act passed January session,

 

eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, chapter three

 

hundred and seven, entitled " an act for incorpo-

 

rating the Western Maryland College.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the. General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That section first, of chapter three hun-

the same is hereby repealed, and re-enacted to read

 

as follows :

 

A College, or general Seminary of learning, by

 

the name of the Western Maryland College, be and

is hereby established at or near Westminster, in Car-

 

roll county, in this State, upon the following funda-

 

mental principles, namely :

 

First. The Western Maryland College shall be

founded and maintained forever upon a most liberal

plan, for the benefit of the youth of every religious

 

denomination, who shall be freely admitted to equal

 

privileges and advantage of education, and to all the

 

literary honors of the College, without requiring or

 

enforcing any religious or civil test, or urging their

 

attendance upon any particular place of religious
