made thereon increase its value to such an extent so-

as to entitle such property to re-assessment between
|

the period of county assessments ; and the commis-

sioners may levy a tax thereon, not to exceed in any

one year twenty cents in the one hundred dollars
|
 
|
worth of assessable property, which said tax shall be
|
 
|
paid to the treasurer, who shall have power to col lect
|
 
|
the same and distrain therefore as the collector of
|
 
|
public assessments has to distrain for the same, and
|
 
|
the said commissioners shall allow the treasurer such
|
 
|
compensation for his services as they may deem
|
 
|
proper.

Fees of bailiff
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the bailiff shall have
|
 
|
the same fees for making arrests, and serving process.
|
 
|
for violation of any ordinance of the corporation as
|
 
|
are allowed constables for similar services, and such
|
 
|
further sum as may be allowed by the commissioners,
|
 
|
not exceeding one hundred dollars per annum, fees.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 172.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of
Caroline county, to borrow money on the credit
of the county, for the purpose of remodeling and
improving the court-house in said county, and
constructing the necessary fire-proof vaults for the
preservation of records and court papers, of the
Circuit and Orphan's Court of said county; to
issue bonds for the payment of the same, and to
levy taxes on the assessable property of said
county, to redeem such bonds and to pay the in-
terest thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
