CHAPTER 171.

 

AN ACT to repeal sections four, twelve, and fifteen,

 

of an act passed and approved April fourth, eigh-

 

teen hundred and seventy, chapter two hundred

 

and sixty, entitled an act to incorporate the town

 

of Laurel, in Prince George's county, and to re-en-

 

act the same with amendments.

 

SECTION 1. And be it enacted by the General Assembly

Repealed and

of Maryland, That sections four, twelve, and fifteen,

re-enacted

of an act passed and approved April fourth, eighteen
hundred and seventy, chapter two hundred and sixty,

 

entitled an act to incorporate the town of Laurel, in

 

Prince George's county, be and the same are hereby

 

repealed and re-enacted to read as follows :

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the male citzens of

 

said town, of the age of twenty-one years and up-

wards, having resided therein for the space of six

 

months next preceeding the first Monday in May

 

next, may on that day, at the place where elections

 

are held in said town, and on the first Monday in

 

May, in each and every year thereafter, be authorized

 

to elect five commissioners for said town, who shall

 

serve for one year or until their successors shall have

 

been elected and qualified.

 

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That no person shall be

 

eligible as commissioner of said town, unless he is
