CHAPTER 139.
AN ACT to prevent the hunting of, catching, trap-
ping, capturing, taking, killing, or destroying, in
any manner, terrapins, or terrapin eggs in Som-
erset county, during the months of May, June,
July and August.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That no person shall hunt, catch, trap,	Prohibited.
capture, take, kill, or destroy, in any manner, within
the limits of Somerset county, in this State, any ter-
rapins or terrapin eggs, during the months of May,
June, July, or August, in any year.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That if any person hunting,
catching, trapping, capturing, taking, killing, or	Guilty of mis-
destroying, in any manner, terrapins or terrapin	demeanor
eggs, during the months of May, June, July, or
August, in any year as aforesaid, contrary to the
provisions of this act, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction thereof, before any
justice of the peace of said county, shall be punished
by a fine of not less than five nor more than twenty-
five dollars, one-half thereof to the informer and the
other half to the school fund for Somerset county.
SEC. 3. That the possession by any person of any terrapins or terrapins eggs, during the time forbidden	Evidence of violation
in this act, shall be prima facie evidence of the viola-
tion of this act.

CHAPTER 141.
AN ACT to enlarge the powers of the County Com-
missioners of Washington county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of	Authorlzed to
Maryland, That it shall be lawful for the County	levy tax

hereby authorized, if they should deem it expedient
