CHAPTER 75.

 

AN ACT to repeal chapter two hundred and eighty-

 

seven of the acts passed at January session, eighteen

 

hundred and seventy, entitled an act to repeal

 

section eight hundred and ten of article four, of

.

the Code of Public Local Laws, chapter three

 

hundred and sixty-seven, passed at January session,

 

eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, and to re-enact

 

the same with amendments.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repealed and

Maryland, That chapter two hundred and eighty-seven,

re-enacted

of the acts passed at the January session, eighteen

 

hundred and seventy, entitled an act to repeal section

 

eight hundred and ten of article four, of the Code of

 

Public Local Laws, chapter three hundred and sixty-

 

seven, passed at January session, eighteen hundred

 

and sixty-seven, be and the same is hereby repealed

 

and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as

 

follows :

 

SEC. 810. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Police Com-
missioners.

Maryland, That the said Board of Police Com-

 

missioners, be and they are hereby authorized and

 

required, immediately on entering upon the duties of

 

their office, to appoint, enroll and employ a perma-

nent police force for the City of Baltimore, which

they shall arm and equip as they may judge ne-

 

cessary, under such rules and regulations as they

 

may from time to time prescribe; and the said board

 

shall have power to remove any police officer or

 

officers of police, or detective, for the violation of any

 

rule or regulation which they may make and pro-

 

mulgate to said police force, officer of police and

 

detectives; said force shall consist of one Marshal
