AN ACT to repeal section seventy-eight, of article
|
 
|
fifteen, of the Code of Pubic Local Laws of Mary-
|
 
|
land, title "Montgomery county," sub-title "Rock-
|
 
|
ville,'' and to re-enact the same with amendments.
|
Repealing and
re-enacting
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That section seventy-eight, of article fifteen
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
|
 
|
"Montgomery county," sub-title "Rockville," be and
|
 
|
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to
|
 
|
read as follows:
|

78. The public buildings and other county prop-
erty, shall continue to the uses to which the same are
|
 
|
now allotted, the Judges of the several courts shall
|
 
|
continue to hold their courts in the court-house as
|
 
|
heretofore; the commissioners of the county, justices
|
 
|
of the peace, sheriff, constables, and all other county
|
 
|
and State officers shall have, hold, and exercise their
|
 
|
offices and jurisdiction in said town, as if this charter
|

had not been granted; and the county commissioners
of Montgomery county shall appropriate annually
|
 
|
two-thirds of the tax levied upon assessable property
|
 
|
within the corporate limits of the town, for the
|
 
|
improvement of the streets within the corporate lim-
|
 
|
its of the town, and shall order the collector of the
|
 
|
fourth election district of said county, to pay the
|
 
|
same to the commissioners for the town, for that
|
 
|
purpose.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
|
