Lawful to sell.
|
2. It shall and may be lawful for such livery
|
 
|
stable keeper, or hotel proprietor, to sell any such
horse, mare, gelding, mule or vehicle at public auction
|
 
|
for cash, in Harford county, after giving at least three
|
 
|
weeks public notice of the time, place, and terms of
|
 
|
sale, in one or more newspapers published in Harford
|
 
|
county, prior to the day of sale, and after deducting
|
 
|
the amount due for keeping, together with all ex-
|
 
|
penses attending such sale, then to pay over the sur-
|
 
|
plus, if any, to the owner of such horse, mare, geld-
|
 
|
ing mule, or vehicle.

State account
|
3. Before proceeding as above it shall be neces-
|
 
|
sary for such livery stable keeper, or hotel proprietor,
|
 
|
to state an account for the keeping of each horse,
|
 
|
mare, gelding, mule, or vehicle, and prove the same
|
 
|
before a justice of the peace for Harford county, who
|
 
|
upon being satisfied by proof of demand and refusal,
|
 
|
or neglect to pay on the part of the owner or owners,
|
 
|
shall thereupon issue his warrant authorizing such
|

sale as aforesaid ; provided, that the proprietor of
|
 
|
such livery stable or hotel shall set upon his premises,
|
 
|
in some conspicuous, place a copy of the aforegoing
|
 
|
sections printed in large type, and also his rates of
|
 
|
livery.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|

CHAPTER 56.
|

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the
|
 
|
electors of President and Vice President of the
|
 
|
United States, in and fop the State of Maryland,
|
 
|
their officers and attendants.
|
Appropriation.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That the sum of five hundred dollars, or
|
 
|
so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the
|
 
|
same is hereby appropriated to pay the per diem of
the Electors of President and Vice President of the
|
 
|
United States, in and for the State of Maryland,
|
 
|
their officers and attendants.
