such transactions on the part of insurance companies
incorporated under the laws of this State; all laws of
this State regulating and providing for the purchase
and holding of real estate by insurance companies
of this State shall be construed to bear with equal
effect in law upon companies of other States purchas-
ing or holding real estate in the State of Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 10.

 

AN ACT to declare the sanction of the General

 

Assembly of Maryland, to the devise and bequest

 

of Henry Butler, colored, late of Baltimore city,

 

deceased, to the Trustees of the African Methodist

 

Episcopal Ebenezer Church of the City of Bal-

 

more.

 

WHEREAS, Henry Butler, late of Baltimore city,

Preamble

deceased, by his last will and testament, duly ad-

 

mitted to probate in the Orphan's Court of Baltimore

 

city, on or about the ninth day of January, in the

 

year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three,

 

after certain specific legacies bequeathed all the rest

 

and residue of his estate to the " Trustees of the

 

African Methodist Episcopal Ebenezer Church of

 

the City of Baltimore," in said city for certain pur-

 

poses connected with the re-building of said church

 

edifice, and for certain other purposes, all of which

 

are fully set forth in the said last will and testament,

 

therefore —

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Sanction given
to a bequest of

Maryland, That the sanction and consent of the

Henry Butler

General Assembly of Maryland, be and the same is

 

hereby given and declared to the devise and bequest
