The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay the indebtedness of the Maryland Insane
Asylum, and to provide for the proper leveling and drainage
of the grounds immediately contiguous to the buildings.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Ways and Means.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 82, of
Article 29, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Courts," providing for rendering judgment for the dam-
ages awarded by the jury upon the ratification of inquisitions
for condemning lands, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and to add additional sections to the said Article of
the Code.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Mr. Freaner, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported with proposed amendments,

The Joint Resolutions authorizing the Comptroller to em-
ploy counsel in the case of the State vs.'The Northern Central
Rail Road Company.
