Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The bill entitled an Act regulating Coal Mines and the
working thereof, in Allegany and Garrett counties, in the
State of Maryland.

Said bill being on its second reading,
Mr. Gill proposed the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

1st section, 6th line., strike out the word "term," and in-
sert "pleasure."

Strikeout "thirty," in 3d line, section 2, and insert "twen-
ty."

Strikeout all between "shall," in 2d line, section 2, to
the word "person," in 6th line, 3d section.

Strike out section 4.

Section 5, line 4, strike out all after "Garrett," to the
word "in," in line 5.

The several amendments were respectively adopted.
Mr. Brace proposed the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 5, line 7, strike out the words "or Garrett."
The amendment was adopted.
Mr. Gill proposed the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out section 18.
The amendment was adopted.
