Mr. Merryman submitted the following Memorial:

To the Honorable,

The Senate and the House of Delegates

of the General Assembly of Maryland:

It is not the intention of the Board of Visitors of the Mary-
land Hospital to recapitulate here the statements which
have been already submitted, nor to vindicate themselves
from charges that have been made against them. But it is
their duty to state in the clearest way, that unless the Legis-
lature will at this time provide the means to meet the pre-
sent claims against the Institution, and for its future sup-
port, the property will in all probability be sold under execu-
tion, to meet the demands of creditors, before the session of
your Honorable Body in 1876 ; and it will become the duty
of the Board of Visitors to close their official relations by
