Claggett, Davis, Denson, Earle, Fields, Getty, Knight,
Longwell, Lloyd, Mudd, McCulloh, Phelps, Stevens, Steiner,
Spencer, Tuck, Walsh—21.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.

Mr. Blake presented the petition of Rachel Talbott, asking
a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pension s.

Mr. Steiner presented the petition of Lott Hartsock, Adam
Devilbiss, and thirty-two others, citizens of Johnsyille, Fred-
erick county, respectfully praying the. General Assembly to
pass a law compelling the Liberty and Pipe Creek Turnpike
Company to remove their toll-gate, so that it will be at least
one-half mile from the present location of the postoffice.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Spencer presented the petition S. W. Cole and others,
protesting against the passage of any law prohibiting the
setting of fish pots in Chester river.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Aydelotte presented the. petition of one hundred and
four voters of Worcester county, praying for a Local Option
Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. McCulloh presented a petition from Nelson Beall,
Curtin M. Grahame, and five hundred other citizens, praying
the passage of a bill providing for the formation of a new
county of the adjacent parts of Allegany and Garrett counties.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Aydelotte presented the petition of fifty-three ladies of
Worcester county, praying for a Local Option and Temper-
ance Law for our State.

Which was read and referred to the .Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. Longwell presented the petition of A. H. Huber, E.
K. Gernand, William A. McKellip and thirty-five other citi-
zens of Carroll county, asking to have the division line
changed between Precincts No. 1 and 2, in Election District
No. 7, in Carroll county.
